Another Great Year

The Putnam County Fair Board proudly returned from the 102nd Annual Tennessee Association of Fairs Convention, adorned with numerous accolades.

Amongst these achievements, the most esteemed honor was bestowed upon our President, John Allen. He was presented with the Thornton Taylor Memorial Award, recognizing his exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to the success of the Putnam County Fair. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to John for this well-deserved recognition.

We are also thrilled to announce that one of our members, Wes Roberson, was elected to serve as one of the Middle Tennessee Directors for the Tennessee Association of Fairs. We wish Wes all the best as he serves in this position and represents Putnam County on the State Board of Directors.

We brought home many awards in the showcase where fairs compete against each other in a variety of categories. Putnam County was able to bring home a first-place ribbon for our Scrapbook created by Pam Thomas and Brandy Beechboard, Other Media Item – Magazine 385 created by the Herald Citizen, Most Unique Crocheted Item made by Angela Brown, Professionally Decorated Fairest of the Fair Stage, and in the Machine Pieced/Machine Quilted category a quilt made by Ann Holland. Our Quilt also received the distinguished Golden Needle Award given to the most outstanding quilt. We received second place awards for our social media collage and our floor display. Our recycled item was a scarecrow created by Beth Davidson which brought home a third-place ribbon.

We want to thank everyone who attended the 2023 Putnam County Fair for their continued support and dedication to keeping the tradition alive. We look forward to seeing everyone at the 98th Annual Putnam County Fair August 1-10, 2024.
